FORUM GUIDELINES

Here are some guildelines to make sure our list stays as informative and as helpful as possible.

There are informal rules of the internet which are termed netiquette to help people use proper etiquette within this form of communication. Some examples of poor netiquette are not signing messages, sending private replies to the entire group, or TYPING IN ALL CAPS (which is considered yelling).

1. Remember that replies automatically go to the list, not the just the person who posted the message! If you want to reply only to the sender please remember you must change the "TO" field, otherwise your reply will be seen by the entire list.
2. Turn off automatic replies or put Chicks-Chat on 'pause' when you go on vacation.
3. Never send attachments because they will be automatically deleted before your message is sent out.
4. Many of today's email programs send styled text by default. Please turn HTML and other styled text off when posting to our list.
5. Be concise as possible. Post overviews of the information and include a link to a website for more detailed information.
6. Trim your messages. Please quote only the relevant portion of messages you respond to -- and please quote some of the original message so others know what you're responding to. Also remove all signature and footer lines from your replies.
7. Don't use PGP encryption on your messages. A lot of people (probably most) won't be able to read your postings.
8. When responding to a digest post, please change the subject to match that of the original message and trim the post to only the relevant portion.
9. Please do sign your messages so we know who we're communicating with but keep your signatures to a minimum.
10. Explicitly commercial posts with products and services not relevant to the film and television business are prohibited. Although subscribers may offer specific equipment and services to the list or share an exceptional bargain they have discovered, explicitly commercial posts are prohibited. Any address or domain posting such solicitation will be blocked. Without limitation, BAWIFM and its designees shall have the right to remove any Postings that violate the terms of use or are otherwise objectionable.
11. Limit of Liability.
    BAWIFM and those acting within the organization are in no way responsible for any direct or indirect damage as a result from involvement with this list. You understand that all postings that are transmitted to or via the List (the "Postings") are the sole responsibility of the submitter. This means that the submitter, and not BAWIFM, is entirely responsible for the Postings transmitted through the List. Further, you understand that by using the List you may be exposed to Postings that are offensive, objectionable or indecent. You agree that you must evaluate, and bear all risks associated with the use of any Postings, that you may not rely on said Postings, and that under no circumstances will BAWIFM be liable in any way for any Postings or for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any Postings.
12. Please make sure your Postings shall not infringe the copyright, trademark, publicity/privacy right or other intellectual property right of any third party. Any address or domain posting such content will be blocked.
13. Do not upload to, distribute through or otherwise publish through the List any Postings that contain viruses or any other computer code, corrupt files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality or disrupt any software, hardware, telecommunications, networks, servers or other equipment.
14. You agree not to make Postings that include personal or identifying information about another person without that person's explicit consent or that is false, deceptive, misleading, or deceitful.
15. BAWIFM does not pre-screen any Postings posted by you or other users, but BAWIFM and its designees shall have the right (but not the obligation) in their sole discretion to refuse or remove any Postings. Without limitation, BAWIFM and its designees shall have the right to remove any Postings that violate the terms of use or are otherwise objectionable, as well as terminate your access to the List.
16. Participants who post to this List grant rights to the List Owner to include their Postings in a searchable archive and grant permission to use the Postings as part of a complete list archive in other mediums. Participants may compile a personal archive of all Postings made to this List, but are not permitted to distribute, publish or make available to others such archived information without the prior express written consent of BAWIFM.
