Join BAWIFM members and other industry leaders for a unique filmmaker mentoring opportunity. Our Filmmakers Doing Business Roundtables (Part 1 of our July Creativity & Entrepreneurship series) grew out of a desire by our members - at all stages of their careers - to interact with and receive advice from San Francisco film and media industry leaders whose entrepreneurial spirit enabled them to climb the ladder and learn what support systems are needed in order for women to run successful businesses in the film and media industry.
Just how do the "Filmmakers Doing Business" Roundtables work? BAWIFM members ("mentees") in groups of five (5) will meet during the course of the evening with six (6) "mentors". Our mentors will spend 12 minutes with each mentee group. The more specific and focused the questions you ask, the more rewarding your experience - and that of other mentees - will be. Mentees should bring 2-3 key questions about an aspect of their career development.
Confirmed Mentors include:
  • Maija Grasis, Arts Arbitration and Mediation Services, California Lawyers for the Arts.
  • Ondine Kilker, director, editor and producer, Kisser Productions.
  • Janet Lees, Director of Programs at the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center.
  • Lise Swenson, media artist, "Strange Culture" and "Saltwater".
Mentors will be able to speak on the following topics:
 • The SF Entrepreneurship
 • The Renaissance Entrepreneur Center
 • Narrative Filmmaking
 • Documentary Filmmaking
 • California Lawyers for the Arts

We are limiting the event to 40 members to optimize the experience of each participant, so sign up NOW! As an added bonus, we will finish the evening with light appetizers and a chance to mingle and network with all who attend.
Note: This event will be held at Citizen Space, 425 Second St., Ste. 100, San Francisco, CA 94107.
