Career Transitions

A NEW year could mean a NEW Career!

Industry Professionals with careers in film or media share how they transitioned from one job (or career!) to another what their jobs entail!

Speakers to include:

Lauren Freeman from Kabam

Lauren Freeman is a Production Services Manager at Kabam, a Bay Area game studio with titles such as Edgeworld, The Godfather: Five Families, and Kingdoms of Camelot.  She has worn many hats in the industry: screenwriter, talent agent, casting assistant, animation director's assistant, video game writer, etc.  At the end of the day, her passion remains writing and she is currently developing a children's book app.

Laura Constantino from Yahoo!

After swimming the uncertain waters of film festivals and non-profits alike, Laura has made the big leap and found a job with Yahoo!. Starting as a contractor, in less than 10 months she was hired as a full-time employee and currently works as one of the editors of the company's revamped video property, "Screen", home of the best online videos and Yahoo! original programming. Laura hasn't, however, abandoned her love for film exhibition and works as a programmer for the San Francisco Independent Film Festival and as a consultant for Mill Valley Film Festival. Laura has an MA in Cinema Studies from San Francisco State University and a BA in Italian and Media Studies from the UniversitàCattolica di Milano.

Isabelle Pain from Flurry

As Publisher Business Development Manager at Flurry, Isabelle Pain helps iOs and Android developers use mobile analytics to improve user retention and monetization. Prior to joining Flurry, Isabelle founded the US office of Playsoft a mobile development and porting house. Earlier, working as a Global Product Manager at Gameloft, she managed the Marketing launch and user
retention strategies for a series of iOs and Android games.
